Michael J. Cavlan, RN is a Minnesota political activist and registered nurse living in Minneapolis. He is running as an independent candidate for Minnesota's US Senate running against incumbent Senator Amy Klobuchar. He ran against Senator Klobuchar in 2006.

He was a volunteer for the National Disaster Medical System. He has specialized for fourteen years in burns, trauma and intensive care. He has been working on the issue of universal health care for many years.
